We have had an incredibly busy, but satisfying weekend. The only thing that could have made it better was the US beating Portugal. A tie is better than losing though!
I finished up my Stampin' Up card for the week a few days ago, but didn't get a chance to photograph it until Saturday. Now all the kiddos are sleeping so I have time to post.
The nautical theme is still very trendy this summer and SU has all the supplies needed to extend the trend to your papercrafts. This week's card has a nautical theme using SU's new papers and stamps.

Super cute, right? The layout came from a sketch in Card Sketches for Paper Crafters. This is an amazing resource tool to have in your back pocket.
For this card, I used both the Maritime Designer Series Paper and Sea Street Stamp Set, but you could easily re-create the card with only either item. Also, I'm working on my fear of mixing patterns. Part of me is proud of my pattern mixture. The other part wants to take it apart and substitute some solid cardstock in there. If you think the card is a little too busy, you could replace the stripe paper with a solid piece (Night of Navy would look good). Then the flag paper is the only major pattern.
Paper sizes and scoring info:
- The card base is 8"x 8" Whisper White cardstock, scored on one side at 4"
- The stripe pattern paper is 8" x 4"
- Whisper White cardstock is 7 3/4" x 3 3/4"
- Flag pattern paper is 7 1/2" x 3 1/2"
- Real red circle is 2 3/4"
- Water pattern paper circle is 2 1/2"
- Octopus stamped in Coastal Cabana on Whisper White cardstock and hand cut
- Happy Birthday day banner stamped in Real Red and hand cut (only because I don't have the matching die set yet!)
- The octopus and banner are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals
- The finished card size is 8" x 4" - great for giving money!
TFL and keep creating!
